Originally trained and educated in shipping at A.P. Moller. Bachelor of commerce from Copenhagen Business School.
Worked in Denmark’s Radio (DR) 1972-1996, starting as a financial consultant and later head of DR’s financial department. From 1987 member of the management board with special responsibilities within HR and collective bargaining. From 1993-1996 managing director of DR-TV.
CEO and president of Nordisk Film A/S 1996-2002. In this periode SEJ was member of groupmanagement in Egmont (owner of the Nordisk Film group), deputy chairman of TV2 Norway and of the Finnish TV-channel, Nelonen. Furthermore chairman of a number of mediacompanies, among others Io Interactive A/S (computergames), A.Film (animationfilms), NF-TV ( independent TV-production in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland), Nordisk Film Post Production (studios, post-production facilities, filmlabs in Scandinavia).
From 2002 independent management consultant with mediacompanies/-projects as main focus area. Chairman of the board of the Copenhagen Film Festivals, Funkhauser Film A/S, Tekst og Tale A/S, and of the advisory board of The Danish Filmschool.
