Ole John is a producer, cinematographer and film director.
He trained as a portrait photographer in 1960 and as cinematographer at National Film School of Denmark from 1966-68.
Ole John is head of International Relations and a consultant for the Professional Training Department at the National Film School of Denmark where he headed the Producer Programme from 1991 to 2008 and was a Vice Director from 2003 to 2008. He was responsible for the film and media department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf 1971-76, for the Danish Film Workshop 1977-84, and New Danish Screen 1994-98. He has also been actively engaged in several associations, for instance as chairman of The Danish Producers’ Association 1990-93, board member in EAVE 1998-2005, co-founder and expert in EDN and from 2001 member of the advisory board at Copenhagen Business School.
He has produced a large number of documentaries and short fictions for The Danish Film Institute and Danish television (DR1 + TV2) together with internationally awarded directors such as Jørgen Leth and Jon Bang Carlsen.
